Parkinson's Local Advisers

In Hertfordshire we have 2 Parkinson's Local Advisers, Joanna and Sarah, supporting people with Parkinson's and their family or carers. They are part of an East of England Local Adviser team with their colleagues based in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire and Essex, as well as Hertfordshire. Whilst each adviser is linked to a different county, referrals may be allocated to anyone in the team based on capacity at the time.

The Local Adviser service provides local in-depth support. We can support people by telephone, video call and/or in person at home or at groups. We are a part of the Helpline which includes specialist Parkinson's Nurse Advisers, Benefits and Employment Advisers and Care Advisers. As a team, we can offer information and advice to people with Parkinson's and their family or carers on topics such as access to health and social care, medical issues (including symptoms and treatment), employment and welfare benefits, housing, daily living, local activities, wellbeing, emotional support, carers support and planning for the future.
